Do I dare call you friend, if I don’t truly know you?

“Jesus spent many hours of quality time with His disciples before He called them “Friends”. He took time to listen to them, He took time to teach them, and He took time to mentor them. This is the true model of discipleship.  The title of “Friend” takes preparation through time gathered personal
knowledge of the intended. Friendship requires investment of selfless energy; an energy that is freely given to another. Jesus said to his disciples, “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:15) True friendship isn’t appointed; it’s cultivated.  In the culture of current humanity; acquaintances are many, and friends are few. I believe this epidemic will continue until selfless discipleship becomes a reality.”

Worthiness

Worthiness

Christ paid fully for our worth; our worth is not our own. Are we to rob Him of the payment of our worth, by finding our own self unworthy? Christ determines our worthiness. His standard of worthiness is based on the life He gave and devoted to our worth.

Self-condemnation based on our personal view of our worth or based on the viewpoint of others; calls His ultimate sacrifice into question. We call it into question by self accusation, through our fleshly assumption, in that; Christ’s assessment of our worth was wrong. Truly; Christ finds nothing worthy about our flesh. However, the Image of God and His Spirit within us, of them, He approves. When, according to His assessment of our worth, we display His Image, and Walk in His Spirit; He gets the Glory. Deuteronomy 32:10 says, “He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.” Our worth to God is equivalent to the worth of His own eye. So, let us not be worthy for our own sake; but for His sake. Let us relinquish our worth to His Glory and His Honor.
